Our Group Finance function is a key part of the Group, managing a net asset base of over £350m. As we continue to invest in our goal of becoming a leading digital retailer there’s a greater need than ever to ensure that we continue to manage group capital while maximising our investment strategy and cashflows to support future expansion.

We are looking for Group Finance Administration Assistant to join our Finance team on 3 months contract. Reporting to the Group Financial Accountant who is responsible for managing all Group bank reconciliations, you will support and clear additional workload created by recent customer outbound projects.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Validating and authorising stop cheque requests on our online banking system on a daily basis – this requires checks to be carried out in our financial accounting system (Fusion Financials), online banking system and various spreadsheets to ensure that the cheques haven’t already been cashed or stopped before authorising.
  • Manual matching of cancelled cheques in Fusion Financial accounting system
  • Manual matching of outstanding cheques in Fusion Financial accounting system – this requires work to identify any duplicated cheques or cancelled cheques, highlighting errors for approval by the Group Financial Accountant, followed by the manual matching of corrections on the Fusion Financial accounting system.
  • Miscellaneous Ad hoc work – assisting other team members with filing, posting external transactions and manual matching of banking transactions in the Fusion Financial accounting system.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Formal finance qualification not essential
  • Strong administration skills and ability to organise own work load and operate independently following initial training
  • Being close to the detail, data driven whilst also being able to articulate results clearly
  • Naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand the commercial impact of the work required
  • A strong team player not afraid to ask questions and escalate identified issues
