We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to support the Head of Compliance in ensuring that they are compliant for the purposes of its regulated activity in financial services. This is an excellent opportunity for a Compliance Officer with a strong track record in financial services to join a fast paced people business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support in delivering the firm’s compliance strategy.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls to regulatory rules and guidance.
  • Positively promote compliance to internal and external customers.
  • Providing proactive and pragmatic compliance guidance to support regulatory changes, Financial Services projects, on-going business initiatives and other requirements.
  • Submitting information to the regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority, using their online reporting systems.
  • Providing advice and support to management in relation to systems and controls risks, specifically pertaining to Financial Conduct Authority rules and guidance.
  • Assist with the development and review of operational policies and procedures to ensure they remain within regulatory requirements
  • Undertake compliance monitoring in line with the firm’s annual Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Continue development of relationships with industry trade bodies.
  • Other ad hoc activity commensurate with the role as requested.

What do you need to have to succeed as Compliance Officer:

  • Indepth experience within a regulated environment (Financial Conduct Authority (Consumer Credit or similar).
  • Sound working knowledge of the FCA handbook.
  • A proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Diligent and fair decision-making skills.
  • Strong time management and the ability to prioritise work load.
  • An aspirational personality and a desire to join a growing team and be a key member of the team.
  • Excellent communication skills - confident and articulate communicator liaising with both internal and external contacts.  Able to build relationships, impart information and ensure action is carried out to meet deadlines.
  • Organised – able to effectively plan and co-ordinate a range of ongoing activities for self and others.
