We are looking for Governance and Risk Manager to join our Financial Services team on 3 months contract. Reporting to Head of Financial Services Compliance, you will support the delivery of the JDW Financial Services risk and compliance strategy. Also, as Governance and Risk Manager, you will assist in embedding effective internal systems and controls in JDW Financial Services.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Review the FS Policy and Procedure Framework as part of the firm’s Compliance Monitoring Plan.
  • Draft where necessary, FS policies and procedures or assist in the delivery of them in conjunction with relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement measures to develop the firm’s risk framework to facilitate the proactive management of FS risks. This would include, but is not limited to, the reporting, escalation and resolution of risk incidents and events identified.
  • Develop an effective risk management culture within the firm.
  • Review and make recommendations for change (where necessary) to JDW’s FS governance framework.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the firm.

What do you need to have to succeed as Governance and Risk Manager:

  • Experience of working in governance and risk within a regulated firm.
  • A sound knowledge of the UK regulatory framework, including FCA rules and guidance, including but not limited to Systems and Controls (SYSC) and Consumer Credit Sourcebook (CONC).
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships internally.
  • Ability to review business practices against regulatory expectations and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Capable of challenging views and opinions.
