With ever-growing customer base and number of high performing brands such as Simply Be, Jacamo and JD Williams cyber security is an important aspect of our digital, business transformation. In this role you will provide Cyber Security subject matter expertise across N Brown to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, data and information assets.

We are looking for a of subject matter expert in the area of IT Security/ Information Security/ Cyber Security. This includes technical IT skills but also experience in delivering secure solutions within complex businesses. Ability to assimilate new technologies and models quickly and identify potential security weaknesses. Ideal candidate will be a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

What you’ll be responsible for as Cyber Security Consultant:

  • Work with project delivery teams to ensure that delivery plans include adequate security controls.
  • To work with IT service management, i.e. N Brown and partner colleagues, to ensure that access control methods and other security controls remain effective and fit-for-purpose and are administered correctly.
  • To perform a leading role and act as a subject matter expert on N Brown’s Customer Data Encryption project and to contribute to the successful delivery of this project
  • To conduct audits on Information Security Policy compliance to identify any gaps and ensure appropriate risk mitigation plans are agreed and delivered
  • To manage and oversee an appropriate programme of vulnerability & penetration testing and that any identified issues are managed to resolution by the appropriate area.
  • To maintain personal and corporate awareness of current Information Security Issues, e.g. emerging vulnerabilities and zero-day exploits, and to identify appropriate risk mitigation counter-measures
  • To provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership across N Brown within the area of Cyber Security and IT Risk Management
  • To support, shape and contribute to the delivery of N Brown’s Technology Roadmaps and the development of the Digital Centre of Excellence.

What you’ll need to succeed as Cyber Security Consultant:

  • You will have solid technical foundation, good understanding of networking concepts and familiar with tiered architectural design. Furthermore, we are looking for knowledge of internet architectures and controls as well as understanding of application security and applicable security controls/designs.
  • You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and capability of business partnering.
  • Working across various levels you will be able to translate business level requirements into risk-based outcomes and propose appropriate controls.
  • A good understanding of security frameworks and associated legislation; in particular GDPR and Cyber Essentials.
