With our ever-growing customer base and number of high performing brands such as Simply Be, Jacamo and JD Williams cyber security is an important and integral aspect of our digital business transformation. We are looking for a Cyber Security Consultant to be the subject matter expert across N Brown to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of systems, data and information assets.

As our Cyber Security Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering secure solutions across the whole business, assimilating new technologies and models, and maintain personal and corporate awareness of current Information Security Issues (e.g. emerging vulnerabilities and zero-day exploits) and identify and implement appropriate risk mitigation counter-measures.

What you’ll be responsible for as Cyber Security Consultant:

  • Work with project delivery teams to ensure that delivery plans include adequate security controls
  • To work with IT service management, i.e. N Brown and partner colleagues, to ensure that access control methods and other security controls remain effective and fit-for-purpose and are administered correctly.
  • To conduct audits on Information Security Policy compliance to identify any gaps and ensure appropriate risk mitigation plans are agreed and delivered
  • To manage and oversee an appropriate programme of vulnerability & penetration testing and that any identified issues are managed to resolution by the appropriate area.
  • To provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership across N Brown within the area of Cyber Security and IT Risk Management
  • To support, shape and contribute to the delivery of N Brown’s Technology Roadmaps and the development of the Digital Centre of Excellence.
  • To grow and develop the IT Security team

What you’ll need to succeed as Cyber Security Consultant:

  • You will have solid technical foundation, good understanding of networking concepts and familiar with tiered architectural design.
  • Proven knowledge of internet architectures and controls as well as understanding of application security and applicable security controls/designs.
  • Previous experience/ understanding of managing an operational environment
  • You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and capability of business partnering.
  • Working across various levels you will be able to translate business level requirements into risk-based outcomes and propose appropriate controls.
  • A good understanding of security frameworks and associated legislation; in particular GDPR and Cyber Essentials.
  • The ideal candidate will be a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) but this is not essential
  • An understanding of cloud technology is preferred but not essential
