We have an opportunity for an analytically driven Modelling and Forecasting Analyst to join our Financial Services department here at N Brown. This role will be responsible for reviewing and improving the current financial modelling and forecasting process within the N Brown Financial Services division, as well as continually providing ongoing analytical support to enhance decision making and ultimately deliver profitable growth.

As one of the UK’s leading retailers which offers credit, this is a pivotal role working with the Senior Modelling and Forecasting Analyst, to evaluate the Financial Services portfolio as well as identifying key customer characteristics that drive the profitability of the loan book and using the segmentation to create a dynamic and detailed cohort-based forecasting model.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Collaborating across the different areas of the Financial Services team, providing analytical support for all financial modelling for Financial Services and understanding the financial impact of both strategy changes and movements in the portfolio.
  • Be the subject matter expert by applying expertise in data preparation, statistics to investigate complex problems in various domains
  • Champion data quality and integrity, highlighting data quality issues and suggesting appropriate solutions
  • Share knowledge and experience around best practice to develop both the immediate and wider team
  • Empower and partner with key decision makers to ensure timely, comprehensive and insightful information that has business impact.
  • Contribute to the research for assessment, introduction and rollout of tools and technology platforms for analytics, automation, insights and visualisation
  • Utilising a constantly evolving range of data sources and tools, extract knowledge and insight to help the business meet its goals and improve its performance.
  • To prioritise business problems that have the most value to the organisation

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • STEM qualifications and back ground (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with a focus on Numerical or Data.
  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • A logical and curious thinker who is able to analyse, interpret and provide compelling insight.
  • Strong communication skills are essential as you will be communicating to the wider business.
  • A passion for data and the ability to tell and sell the story with clear actions and make recommendations to support predictive analytics.
  • Experience of, or demonstrable understanding of Excel, SAS, SQL or statistical packages
  • Knowledge of statistical modelling techniques such as logistical regression, cluster analysis, propensity modelling is essential.
  • An open-minded, inquisitive, flexible individual, who displays a positive attitude towards new challenges, a willingness to learn and a passion to embrace new technologies and business change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential, along with an ability to manage a varied workload, to tight deadlines.
