JD Williams has been trading within the heart of Manchester city centre for over 150 year to customers all over the world. As a FCA regulated ethical lender we are continually ensure we provide our customers with competitive options when taking credit out with us, which is why we’re looking for a Lending Manager to develop our customer pricing strategy in order to drive long-term, sustainable profit.

As our Lending Manager you will be responsible for balancing commercial risk and minimising potential customer detriment. You will build key internal relations across the business with the Head of Credit Risk and Legal and Compliance as well as being responsible for undertaking in depth customer behaviour analytics and making key recommendations to develop and improve credit term pricing policies and processes.

Other key role responsibilities:

  • To develop customer pricing strategies for UK and Ireland operations  
  • Creation and roll out of initial credit terms for accepted customers on revolving agreements and implement SLA’s to review and amend credit terms for revolving agreements
  • Creation and sign-off of the business case for all pricing policy changes
  • To effectively apply customer level scoring models to support the risk assessment of our credit portfolio using internal and external data.
  • To develop and determine propensity models to support the assessment of our pricing strategy.
  • To examine and assess the group pricing strategies to ensure they are delivering as expected and making appropriate recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  • To determine and develop JD Williams pricing strategy for new credit products.
  • To work and liaise with key stakeholders across the business to ensure there is a joined-up approach to the way we price our credit products
  • Direct line management and responsibility for holding regular 1-2-1 meetings; setting performance objectives, training, development, reviewing performance and recruitment.
  • Responsible for the operational implementation and communication of interest rate changes to all customers affected.

  • Impressive background in Credit Risk and predictive analytics within a Financial Services Organisations, preferably credit product pricing
  • Highly analytical with strong technical skills - specifically SQL and SAS
  • Effective key decision making
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in strategic systems implementations
  • Knowledge of External Financial Services marketplace and regulatory environment
  • People management skills
  • To be able to build key stakeholder relationships
