Here at N Brown, we have an exciting opportunity to join us as Director of Digital Fit reporting directly to the Chief Product and Trading Officer and engaging with C-level Execs on a day to day basis. This is a maternity cover for a 12 month FTC. This is an autonomous role and the Director is responsible for:

Digital Transformation of a) fit innovation across the N Brown group, b) Delivering the Digital fit & innovation strategy and c) making it integral to the business strategy. Making the Customer the centre of the universe by driving change across business areas. This is achieved through harnessing leading edge fit technology to transform legacy operating processes and to ensure development of innovative USPs.

The role:

The Director of Digital fit understands how this can be used to drive loyalty from our customer base through innovation and storytelling. The Director must possess the ability to think laterally to create and enrich the quality of interaction with key decision makers, articulating the business value of digital solution/innovations. Delivering the vision to transform N Brown into a 21st Century retail business and executing this vision with drive and clarity is critical to the success of this role.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Transforming the culture of N Brown from a traditional retailer to a 21st Century digital business through thought leadership and leading by example is a key success factor
  • Define, deliver & regularly communicate the Digital Fit & Innovation strategy in support of and in line with business objectives.
  • Accountable for ensuring the Digital Fit and Product innovation functions have the right level of talent and capability to deliver strategy.
  • Performance management & succession plans consistently in place along with core feedback structure from 121’s to weekly huddles
  • Ensure the achievement of the KPIs across the Digital Fit & Product innovation Business Units. 
  • Ensure our customers are at the heart of everything we do and our actions enhance our customer relationship
  • Delivering fit, size and product innovation expertise, focusing on the customer and their preferences, offering those USP products.
  • Ensure the business plans are signed off with any potential risks highlighted and mitigation plans in place.

KPIs and Balanced Scorecard Measures 

Accountable for:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

  • Delivering and implementing the digital fit strategy.
  • Will be instrumental in advising the Exec board on digital and technology investment decisions eg. investing in innovative fit software, new start up solutions to support driving digital fit strategy
  • Owning capex and opex budgets for digital and innovative solutions
  • Ensure collaborative working with key stakeholders at director level to implement new digital ways of working which underpins the success of DF strategy.
  • Ensuring team and supply chain deliver fit consistency across all products and the constant introduction of innovation in fit and product balanced with style.
  • Ensures the delivery and accuracy of reporting on digital fit progress, innovative fit solutions and quality performance.
  • Managing any risks and ensuring product meets and is compliant with any regulatory requirements.
  • EBITDA, Vibe, NPS, Product Returns rates plus further KPI’s from top 25 TBD.

Experience and Capability

Essential

  • A visionary leader, expert in both the Retail Sector and cutting edge Information Technology and able to shape the confluence and convergence of the two in order to deliver true business transformation
  • Previous experience at Director level in a multi-channel retail organisation
  • Experience of formulating strategy and cultural practices in related or similar environments
  • Strong commercial understanding and business acumen
  • Director experience with key divisions; buying, merchandising, Retail, QA & design across branded and private label product.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), leadership, negotiation, influencing and persuasion skills, particularly at Director level.
  • Previous experience of defining and leading retail digital change programmes at pace.
  • Experience in strategic organisational change
