We have an exciting opportunity to join us as Head of Operations- Logistics reporting directly into our Supply Chain Director. The Head of Operations will deliver the ongoing operational plan, design the annual business plan the contribute to the strategic direction for operations within the broader supply chain.

What you’ll be responsible for:

 

  • Lead all operational colleagues, focusing on continuous development, improving safety management, operational processes and resources within the Logistics and 3rd party sites, and will provide an outstanding customer experience for all internal and external customers, with an attitude and passion to exceed all objectives and SLA’s

 

  • Champion and foster a culture in which colleagues feel supported in executing their role by leadership, and where driving improvements is a continuous part of success

 

  • Demonstrate a desire to explore and apply experiences and processes to streamline and improve the outcome for customers

 

  • Lead the business plan for all operational areas of the supply chain for 12 months horizon and hold the team to account for its delivery through objective setting and performance management

 

  • Continuously build on and improve relationships with all colleagues, including internal heads of departments, suppliers and Trade Unions

 

  • Ensure the smooth flow of goods into and through distribution centres on a timely basis whilst achieving operational cost excellence

 

  • Implement and maintain the most efficient and cost-effective storage for all products, ensuring capacity is not exceeded

 

  • Attract, recruit & Grow a team of operational professionals, equipping them with enhanced data and enabling analytical capability to drive smarter and more efficient decision making

 

  • Lead and develop teams to add value to the business by fostering an environment whereby individuals want to bring their best self to work every day

 

  • Deliver a strong customer centric approach to all operational activities

 

  • Set a culture which empowers colleagues to make decisions and supports the development of a continuously improving organisation

 

 

What you will need to succeed:

 

  • Have a background in online fashion and/or 3PL Logistics, preferably in a fast moving, customer obsessed operation and is looking for the next step in an already established career path

 

  • Be imaginative in your planning and be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships across all networks, internal and external. You will be open to change, and to challenge, and will be courageous in making clear and accurate judgments

 

 

  • You will not fear failure but will acknowledge mistakes and move quickly to resolve. You will have strong leadership and flexible skills and be able to implement clear objectives and development plans across all levels

 

  • The ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of the latest Warehouse Management Systems.  A proven track record of implementing increasing automation and mechanisation across the operation with well-established infrastructure partners

 

 

  • Comfortable in understanding how the impact of data from operating systems will influence decision making and changes to existing processes and people.
