We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Merchandiser to join our Womenswear team! You will be working closely with the Merchandiser and manage more junior members of team. The ideal candidate will have had experience working within similar category areas and be confident in their role. This will suit an experienced Assistant Merchandiser looking for their next step or a Junior Merchandiser looking for a new challenge. 

What you’ll be responsible for as a Junior Merchandiser on Womenswear:

  • Monitoring range plans and trading plans to ensure optimum stock levels are achieved and OTB is maximised at all times.
  • Working closely with the buying team to build a commercial range which not only meets business targets and budgets, but also customers’ expectations.
  • Developing detailed range plans with appropriate product phasing to ensure availability is maximised and to minimise terminal stock.
  • Maximising in-season trading opportunities to ensure optimum trading and profitability. Reacting to trading activity suggesting markdowns and promotions where appropriate.
  • Working closely with other departments in the business, Buying, Marketing, Product Coordination, Quality Assurance. Maintaining a collaborative approach to work and ensuring that all ranges and promotions are in line with business strategy and aligned with brand values.
  • Performing detailed analysis and reporting at yearly, seasonal, weekly level by department, category, line and attribute. Identifying sales patterns and potential trading opportunities.

What you will need to succeed as a Junior Merchandiser:

  • Knowledge and experience planning and trading your own department, including forecasting and OTB management responsibilities.
  • Experience working within Electricals or Technology would be advantageous 
  • Experience and understanding of the WSSI
  • Experience of managing more junior member of the team
  • A degree level qualification or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot Table, IF), and high level proficiency with other Microsoft Office programs.
