The Role:

As our Lending Manager, you will develop customer lending strategies for new and existing customers to drive long-term, sustainable growth from our Financial Service offering. To balance commercial risk whilst ensuring we meet the needs of the customer, the regulator and provide appropriate lending levels for each individual customer. Manage the performance of the Financial Services Team imbedding our Company values

Additional Responsibilities:

  • To develop and integrate use of Credit Reference Agency data to assist in decision making on new and existing customer lending decisions to include managing Credit Reference Agency relationship.
  • Develop automated decisioning process.
  • Develop and maintain fraud prevention rules and processes for new and existing customer orders, protecting reputational risk, commercial loss, protecting customers.
  • Develop customer lending strategies to determine which new credit customers are accepted / rejected and when to accept / reject credit orders from existing customers.
  • To develop existing customer lending strategies for Oxendales Ireland, using existing customer behavioural analytics combined with external data sources, in order to determine when to extend or withdraw further credit to customers through a fully regulated credit limit/decrease strategy and which customers are eligible for any future credit promotions.
  • To develop and determine effective customer level scoring models to support the risk assessment of our credit portfolio using a balance of internal and external data.
  • Direct line management and responsibility for holding regular 1-2-1 meetings; setting performance objectives, training, development, reviewing performance and recruitment.
  • To work closely with Compliance & Marketing teams to ensure that all new and existing lending strategies are aligned to the requirements of the regulator and all external Lending standards.
  • Manage Governance and oversight of debt placement to external debt agency.
  • Ensure internal and external Debt Placement processes are in line with Regulatory and agreed contractual requirements.
  • Managing every aspect of the performance of any External Debt Collection Agency in line with the contractual agreement.


What we’re looking for:

  • Essential knowledge in Credit Risk and predictive analytics in Financial Services Organisations in Credit Limit management.
  • Experience in modelling and scorecard building - regression testing, decision tree model building, test and outcome analysis are desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills). Experience with SAS, Python (Panda), R Studio, SQL/Teradata will be required.
  • Highly analytical and proven ability to work with ‘Big’ data. .
  • Effective key decision making.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in strategic systems implementations.
  • Strong knowledge of External Financial Services marketplace and regulatory environment.
  • People management skills and experience. 
  • Experience of building key stakeholder relationships at a senior level
