We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Forecasting Analyst to join the team here at N Brown. As a truly digital first eCommerce business this role has been created to assist the development of ever more complex forecasts and forecasting methodologies suited to an innovative ecommerce business.

As our Digital Forecasting Analyst you will help marry data and intelligence across key areas of the business (namely Media, Marketing, Finance, and Buying & Merchandising) to enable an agile trading forecast for the business. You will interpret the forecasts produced to build recommendations for the trading teams to help improve sales and increase efficiencies (particularly digital media ROI).

Additional responsibilities also include:

  • Manage the process to build sales forecasts for several of the businesses core brands and review on a monthly basis. Identify any risks and opportunities within the forecasts. Ensure planning and forecasting procedure is rigorous and well documented to ensure accuracy in the process.
  • Help develop a template for forecasting that is consistent across all brands in business to ensure a singular methodology is used throughout the planning team’s forecasting process.
  • Assist with the management of a small reporting portfolio to aid the planning team inform the business of opportunities and risks within the forecast.
  • Manage the process of delivering an accurate daily forecast on a weekly basis to give the business insight of the main sales forecast at a daily level.
  • Engage with stakeholders across numerous departments to better integrate and explain all forecasts being produced.
  • Assist the development a new forecasting methodology using strong mathematical / statistical methods, marrying together several data sources, particularly the integration between Google Analytics data and SQL based company data.
  • Using the above brand forecast to create a Brand Category Matrix for B&M to roll up demand targets for future seasons by product division.
  • Cross functional working (Media & Econometrics team) to monitor trading of PPC spend to maximise trading opportunities.
  • Up/Cross skilling within the Planning & Trading teams on forecasting demand & traffic.
  • Reporting in to the Brand Planning Manager, you will be expected to manage your own workload in line with the commercial calendar.

What you will need to succeed:

  • Strong numerical skills with knowledge of statistical modelling
  • Advanced SQL & strong understanding of structural databases
  • Advanced Excel
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, particularly digital media channels, and good knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Understanding of how Marketing, Finance, and Buying & Merchandising work together to achieve Brand objectives
  • Experience of dealing with multiple inputs from various functions whilst maintaining a high level of ‘ownership’, showing you are a subject matter expert
  • Experience of working with stakeholders across several areas of a business
  • Ability to interrogate and audit large data sets, with a very keen eye for accuracy
