Here at N Brown we are looking to recruit a Head of Customer Insight on a 9-month fixed term contract. We are also flexible to this being a 4/5-day week! This is a fantastic opportunity for a brand strategist or senior research professional looking to help colleagues put customers at the heart of all decision making and drive the commercial plans to support N Brown growth.

In this role as Head of Customer Insight you will lead the team in delivering insight across multiple programmes that is a catalyst for helping customers look and feel amazing, driving both competitive advantage and long-term market leadership. This role will suit strong leaders with a strategic mindset and sound commercial acumen, who enjoys working with senior stakeholders in a business partnering capacity.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the team in delivering market and consumer research, from one-off strategic projects to ongoing programmes to track brand perceptions, customer experience, behaviour and sentiment
  • Use competitive and financial analysis to track progress towards strategic objectives and provide context that shapes future brand direction
  • Partner and influence stakeholders from across the business to ensure insight answers key strategic questions, provokes action and creates ROI
  • Lead the team in creating and delivering insight across a variety of formats to stakeholders, making the customer’s voice compelling and unavoidable, creating clear stories with insightful and actionable recommendations
  • Answer the big strategic questions for the business, leading key ad hoc projects in collaboration with wider business stakeholders
  • Provide stimulus and new thinking on the future of online retail

What experience and skills are we looking for?

  • Senior insight professional with excellent track record working in a client-side or strategic research agency role
  • Broad knowledge of the insight field desirable, with prior experience of leading customer experience, brand tracking and retail market analysis ideal
  • Excellent leadership qualities; a love of developing and leading a team with differing levels of experience and areas of focus
  • The ability to easily establish trust-based relationships with multiple stakeholders and gain valuable insights through collaboration and communication
  • Commercial acumen and proven ability to establish ROI of insight programmes; understanding of an online retail business desirable
  • First class written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex analysis and insights in a simple and engaging way that elicits action
  • Drive; enjoys a challenge, proven ability to adapt and remove obstacles to achieve results, determination and optimism
  • Established external network that can be leveraged in the role to bring alternative perspectives and innovative thinking
