The Role and responsibilities

We are looking for someone to join our Transport Operations team as a Transport Administrator within our Logistics department and they will be at the very heart of the team! You will be based at our warehouse in Shaw, Oldham. This person will:

  • Assist with all office based aspects of a busy transport office, from generating collection and delivery notes to checking the success of the day’s activities and communicating with our internal customers via phone and email to help make sure our goods are delivered on time. 
  • Support with arranging and providing work to our drivers through our Transport management system.
  • File documents to meet our legal compliance needs, rotating and removing old documents on a regular basis.
  • Confirm bookings with supplier’s for vehicle inspections when needed and keep the inspection planner up to date.
  • Complete reporting activities and share/communicate these with the wider Transport team, managers and external companies.
  • Updating spreadsheets used by the team daily so that they are aware of what’s happened on any given day.
  • Support the Training and Compliance Manager with the upkeep of electronic records for licensed and certified operators of mechanical equipment such as Large goods vehicles and Fork Lift trucks.

What are we looking for?

Do you have an interest in Logistics or Transport? Do you enjoy communicating, both written and verbally, and like working as part of a team? If so, then this could be the role for you. 

  • We’d love someone with a “can-do”, positive attitude that likes building relationships with others.
  • We're looking for someone with a good telephone manager and likes doing tasks that need attention to detail. 
  • For experience and qualifications, we'd like someone who has had work experience and/or academic knowledge in English and Maths. 
  • Basic computer skills and an understanding of Microsoft, particularly Excel, will be needed.
