As we expand our capabilities we are on the lookout for a Delivery Lead to cover Retail and Group functions. You will be a strong PM who will help to elevate our Data capability by taking responsibility for ensuring our projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the customer’s expectations. 

Working with your Business Owner and Digital Technology Squads you will support the prioritisation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of a project within Retail & Group to deliver the broader company strategy and feed this back to the Transformation Roadmap. You will lead and develop a team of Project Managers to ensure the strategic objectives of their relevant business areas are delivered. Our environment is fast paced so you will need to be comfortable managing delivery through changing priorities whilst keeping control and managing stakeholders’ expectations.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • The Delivery Lead supports the Director of Transformation in planning, prioritising and tracking the progress of key delivery projects for the retail business and broader group.
  • Alongside this this delivery lead may support on specific complex change initiatives, driving the activities across our agile technology and business squads by:
    • Working with the Business Owner to articulate the case for change and understand the desired outcomes and value that is being delivered
    • Managing plans and costs whilst holding true to the values of agile delivery in delivering value early and incrementally
    • Ensuring cross squad dependencies are understood and delivery sequenced accordingly
    • Communicating at all levels to ensure BO’s, stakeholders and the delivery teams are clear on purpose and progress towards the goals, effectively managing risks and issues as they occur
    • Managing and coordinating business readiness activity including process change, training and communication plans
    • Managing 3rd party engagements, agreeing Statements of Work and managing the delivery to time, cost and quality
    • Creating a one-team ethos where everyone is working collaboratively to a common goal
    • Manage the risk log for your projects
  • Recruit select and support team members and line manage by setting performance objectives, reviews and performance coach providing clear and constructive feedback in regular 121’s, agreeing training and development plans accordingly.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Extensive knowledge and awareness of Delivery Management principles, documents and plans along with strong facilitation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to deliver results on time, on budget, and to the very highest standards
  • Commercial awareness to quickly evaluate the technical, behavioural and contextual elements of a Delivery.
  • Strong stakeholder management and Delivery reporting skills are essential.
  • Able to build strong relationships with people at all levels and display tenacity to achieve objectives.
  • Our environment is fast paced and rapidly changing; therefore, you’ll need to be confident to deliver to tight deadlines.

You must be able to evidence the ability to deliver results on time, on budget, and to the very highest standards as well as the commercial awareness to quickly evaluate the technical, behavioural and contextual elements of a project. Strong stakeholder management and project reporting skills are essential.

You should be able to build strong relationships with people at all levels and display tenacity to achieve objectives. You’ll need to be a strong influencer and comfortable working in collaboration with others.
