Group Financial Accounts & Risk Manager

As a member of the group finance team, the successful candidate will lead the financial accounting and reporting for the group’s Irish and Parent entities, and lead and co-ordinate the management of the Finance Risk framework and control environment.  


What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing the timely delivery of the month end close and financial reporting for the Irish and Parent entities of the Group;
  • Act as a Business Partner for both and provide support to the Oxendales Board and business and Finance leadership team;  
  • Oversee the analysis of results vs budget / forecast, BS reconciliations and cashflow / liquidity requirements for these two entities;
  • The successful individual will lead and co-ordinate the work undertaken under the Risk and control framework across the finance team. This will involve the following activities amongst other things:
  • Maintenance of the finance risk and controls register, involving monthly update meetings with key finance owners;
  • Establish process for controls testing across all relevant finance areas – implement testing requirements and frequency and assist key finance owners with evidence gathering, to support the RCSA attestations;
  • Support the governance and attend the monthly Finance Risk forum and preparation of the monthly Risk and metrics pack;
  • Support with the assessment of the Group’s financial liquidity, funding requirements and relevant reporting, as well as assist with the development of a treasury dashboard.
  • Streamline processes and support the overall drive to improve the financial control environment across Group Finance through improved understanding of financial risks and controls and the implementation of improvements where required.


What you’ll need to succeed:


The right candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with post qualification experience, having gained experience of external audit and ideally control testing.

Positive, open mindset with good management skills and leader of change.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and partner internally with other teams, and support key members of the finance leadership team.
  • The candidate will be strong at managing stakeholders and influencing them to understand the importance of a robust financial control environment and any control improvements required.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Attention to detail and pride in what they do. Results oriented.
  • Experience of working in a best practice control environment and clearly understands what good looks like for control design and operational effectiveness
  • Excellent excel skills is a must.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion products preferable but not essential.
  • Retail and / or commercial experience preferable, but not essential.
