As we continue to grow our Technology division, we are currently looking to recruit an Android Engineer here at N Brown Group.

As an Android Engineer your day to day would be working in a squad where you will be planning, testing, and developing improvements and new features for our apps. You would be collaborating with other Engineers to code review, suggest improvements and knowledge share.

In summary, as one of our Android Developer you will:

  • Design and develop effective software that meets complex product and business needs
  • Review and give constructive feedback on others’ code within the Android team
  • Drive work to successful completion across the immediate team
  • Write appropriate tests using automated test-driven techniques for ensuring code quality and coverage
  • Integrate the software with monitoring and support tools
  • Ensure the teams software works in its operating environment
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and product managers to understand business requirements and influence product requirements
  • Write, review, and take responsibility for technical documentation
  • Help with troubleshooting and resolution of issues throughout the product life cycle, including out of hours support for incident resolution
  • Participate in the team's agile planning and delivery process
  • Effectively participate in and help improve the team’s software development methodologies, such as pairing, code and documentation reviewing and continuous delivery
  • Work with project, product and technical leads to design software and create implementable specifications and tasks at feature and component level
  • Continuously discover, evaluate, learn new technologies and keep abreast of existing technologies and help introduce them where appropriate

What are we looking for?


  • You have delivered at least one native Android app to the Play store and some experience with our current tech stack:
  • You are team-oriented, keen to share your knowledge and open to giving (and receiving) continuous feedback.
  • You understand the Android ecosystem, the best practices for development in the space & material design guidelines
  • You like to write clean, reusable. testable and maintainable code
  • You love to learn new skills and want to develop your existing ones to maximise your potential.
  • You care about impact, love a challenge, and take ownership of your work.

Nice to have

  • Worked on multiple projects or codebases concurrently
  • Interest in code architectures, trends, and emerging technologies outside of mobile
  • Associate Android Developer Certification
  • Experience with the NDK
  • Knowledge of iOS
