The Role and responsibilities

The Customer Insights team are at the heart of N Brown, responsible for making sure the business really understands who our customers are and making sure we’re meeting their needs. Reporting into the Customer Insight’s Manager, we’re looking for a Customer Research Assistant who will be involved in numerous activities, all focused around learning and working with our different consumer types and ensuring that the team and wider business have the right information at the right time to make the best decisions with our customers in mind. This role is based at our headquarters in the Northern Quarter. You will:

  • Research daily on our websites, tv adverts, reading reviews, feedback surveys, researching our competitors and shadowing customer focus groups and events, where you will hear directly what our customers think and feel about our brands and service.
  • Learn the process for undertaking researching projects and support the team on a variety of projects, learning about different areas of our business and how to ensure we are making customer-centric decisions.
  • Understand how to gather information and put together research reports: your approach, the findings and what key actions need to be taken.
  • General administration, including managing admin folders to keep information accurate and up to date, will be required as and when needed.

What will you get?

  • You will develop your technical skills using a variety of Microsoft software, in particular Microsoft Excel and Word and work first hand with our customers to ensure their feedback is heard and they have a voice!
  • You will also develop your analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication (verbal and written), organisational skills, teamwork and relationship-building skills.

As well as this, you will have:

  • Regular meetings with your Manager.
  • Regular feedback on your work from colleagues so you can learn and adapt.
  • A buddy to support you when you join and throughout your time with us.
  • Training and development support from us and from the Prince's Trust, youth employability experts, to build your skills for the working world and your future!

What are we looking for?

Would you consider yourself as curious and enjoys research? Do you consider yourself to be organised, efficient and a creative thinker? If so, then this could be the role for you.

  • We’d love someone with a “can-do” positive attitude that likes to work with others, likes to build relationships with people and has a willingness to learn.
  • We’re looking for someone who also feels comfortable, with the support of the team, to work to tight deadlines at times.
  • We’d like someone who thinks creatively and has a willingness to learn new things.
  • We’re looking for someone who may have had work experience and/or academic knowledge in Psychology, Marketing or Business – although the team is made of of people from all different backgrounds so this is not essential!
