Here at N Brown we have an incredibly exciting role for an energetic and inquisitive MI Manager for our Supply Chain division.

The key objective of the role is to use the vast stores of internal and external data to create insights that support the business in delivering parcels to our customers ‘On time and in full’ as efficiently as possible.

The scope of the role extends from our shipping partners bringing stock into the business, to the movements throughout our internal warehouses. This extends to the activities of our external suppliers and finally the journey of the parcel all the way into the customers hands with our delivery partners.

As well as leading your own team, the role requires someone who can establish and maintain strong cross functional relationships at all levels. Collaborating with others to drive improved costs, service and customer experience (CX) through data.

You will report into the Director of Supply Chain and be a key voice within the Supply Chain SLT.

Your role as a Supply Chain MI Manager:

  • To provide timely and accurate MI, allowing monitoring of all key processes that affect the quality and efficiency of the supply chain.
  • To use insight to challenge openly and fairly, business strategy decisions with senior management team, with the goal of improving overall service and cost metrics.
  • To report on the corporate ‘on time in full’ (OTIF) and supply chain customer NPS KPIs on a daily basis, using outputs to maintain and improve on service levels, working with other business areas.
  • To collaborate with senior management teams in budgeting processes and to support with data the analysis of variances throughout the financial year.
  • To maintaining all existing departmental reporting tools.
  • To assist project teams and senior management in challenging and validating business cases through data, ensuring maximum benefit from annual CapEx spend.
  • To support Operations in implementing projects from a data and process perspective, and to support senior management and finance teams in monitoring of project deliverables, post implementation.
  • To monitor customer ‘lost in transit’ claims with Carriage Managers, ensuring processes and parameters are adequate to ensure minimum business risk and maximum customer satisfaction.
  • To explore new ways to deliver data to the end user (eg: PowerBI) with the goal of reducing reports, increasing self-serve MI and increasing call to action. In doing so to build and maintain master datasets which ensure continued compliance/structure in reporting and faster ah-hoc analysis.

What you’ll need to succeed: 

  • Previous experience of working with SQL in a senior role.
  • Strong communicator at all levels, with ability to build relationships throughout the company and externally, inspiring confidence with key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and experience of MI reporting tools and data server management.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Always remaining professional, objective and unbiased with an ability to influence change.
  • Being commercially aware of current internal and external trends at all times.
  • Being inquisitive about processes, and creative about solutions.
  • Ability work under pressure, managing internal customer expectations, reacting to changes in priorities.
  • Understanding of supply chain processes and best practice beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a B2C environment, with a high emphasis on Customer Service beneficial, but not essential.
