Here at N Brown we have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and eager individual to join us as Imports Administrator.

The Imports Administrator will assist the Import Compliance and Administration Manager and the Import Freight Manager in ensuring that all requisite processes are completed in the department with regards to duty management, supplier payments and customs reporting. This is a key role in a vital area of our supply chain function. Working with a collaborative, engaging and supportive team, you will be given all the tools and support you could wish for to progress and develop you career.

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Classify familiar imported goods to customs standards and input onto JD Williams mainframe and Langdon Systems’ duty management system.
  • Provide administrative support to the Import Compliance and Administration Manager & Import Freight Manager.
  • Complete the full customs clearance and then input into the duty management system.
  • Correcting errors/ out of balances on all custom clearances including USA returns.
  • Daily processing on the duty management system – reporting information to HMRC
  • Month end processing on the duty management system – reporting information to HMRC.
  • Collate month end valuations for the finance department.
  • Scan all documents and record on N Brown systems for HMRC regulatory requirments.
  • Report to HMRC & Finance department all goods moved within the EU containing customs classification.
  • Supplier Invoices –TT/DP payments on HSBC, audit check and record all invoices before passing to the Finance department (AD-Hoc holiday cover).

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • Previous experience in a fast paced, multi challenging office environment is preferred but not essential
  • Import background would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience of record keeping
  • Good communicating skills
  • The ability to work on own initiative, whilst being an integral part of the team.
