Senior Buyer - Tech & Leisure:  

The Senior Buyer is responsible for planning, sourcing, developing and selecting a commercial and successful  range. They must use their knowledge and expertise to understand our customers’ wants and needs and create a strong multi-channel offering, whilst taking into account budgets and margin requirements. Overall the Buyer’s role is to build a range which both meets and exceeds the customers’ expectations, whilst maximising profits and revenue.

What you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Planning, sourcing, developing and selecting product for the technology department.  

  • Working closely with the Merchandiser to plan in-line with the trading and business strategy. 

  •  Understanding and working within given budgets and meeting strict margin requirements. 

  • Presenting and taking a lead role in strategy planning, selection and trade meetings.  

  • New product innovation and development through market insight and trend analysis.  

  • Negotiating the best possible cost prices at all times. 

  • Competitor and market insight.  

  • Managing, leading and motivating junior members of the buying team. 

What you will need to succeed: 

  • Relevant experience ideally including sourcing homewear categories for a leading retailer  

  • Sourcing experience is essential. 

  • Strong negotiation skills.  

  • Previous experience managing your own range, OTB and budgets. 

  • Confident user of Microsoft Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel), Outlook. 

  • Excellent communication skills.  

  • Leadership qualities.  

  • Enthusiasm, determination and commitment to the role.
