As Head of Internal Audit, you will be a valued member of our senior leadership team.


The Role:

The role of Head of Internal Audit is to lead Group Internal Audit (GIA) to provide independent objective assurance and business advice. designed to add value and improve the operations of N Brown Group plc and its subsidiaries.

  • Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and managing relationships with the rest of the Executive Board (as key stakeholders)
  • Bring a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
  • Monitor, report on and promote effective financial and operational controls across N Brown Group plc's activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead delivery of the Group's cycle of internal audit reviews of key business risks, providing assurance to the business.
  • Report and present periodically to the Executive Board, the Financial Services Board and the Group Audit & Risk Committee on  audit activity, key issues arising from audit reviews and outstanding audit issues.
  • Provide an annual assessment on the effectiveness of the Group’s governance, risk management and internal controls activities.
  • Provide Directors and their Leadership Teams with independent, objective and practical advice, guidance and coaching in relation to design, implementation and operation of effective business controls.
  • Liaise with NBG's external auditors to provide assurance that audit requirements are being monitored and met.
  • Lead, recruit, train, performance manage, develop and motivate the GIA team (of four FTEs) to ensure that the business and audit objectives are met.

What We Are Looking For:

  • At least five years management-level experience in an internal audit/risk management role in a FTSE 350 company or leading accountancy practice.
  • Having previously held the SMF5 designation (under the FCA’s Senior Manager Regime) would be ideal.
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MIIA or relevant equivalent.
