Leigh Academy Halley is now recruiting a Lead Practitioner - Mathematics, to join us from September 2025.
This is a truly fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to become part of a well-established, highly collaborative and successful maths department that works hard to ensure that students enjoy a challenging, dynamic and rewarding curriculum. All of the maths team are subject-specialists, two of whom are on the Academy Leadership Team. We have a Director of Learning for Maths, 1 Lead Practitioner and a Key Stage 3 Co-ordinator for Maths. One of our Directors of Progress is also part of the maths team. All students study Maths in Key Stage 3 through the IB Middle Years Programme. The subject is popular and successful at both GCSE and sixth form, where we offer IB Mathematics - Applications and Interpretations. In addition to this, we have an active and popular STEM extra-curricular programme that is well attended by students after school.
This permanent opportunity offers a competitive MPS/UPS, commensurate with experience + Inner London Allowance + TLR. We welcome applications from prospective colleagues who would wish to work part-time, as well as full-time.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust
As of 1st September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff. Currently, 16 of our academies are considered to be “Outstanding” which is 53% of those which have been inspected whilst part of the Trust. The Trust is establishing three ‘clusters’ of academies: LAT Central; LAT West; LAT North.
