Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Payroll Manager to join our team. This is a pivotal role within our Trust, where your expertise will ensure the efficient and accurate processing of payroll for 31 academies along with benefits administration, and pension management across the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process across all academies
- Lead a proficient payroll team, fostering a collaborative work environment
- Administer employee benefits and manage Teachers' and Local Government Pension Schemes
- Utilise the iTrent payroll system to ensure data integrity and security as well as driving efficiencies.
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Trust and external software partners
Our ideal candidate possesses excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation and an understanding of benefit and pension schemes administration. Prior experience in a similar role, particularly within an educational setting, is an advantage as is experience using the iTrent payroll software.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1st September 2022, our Trust comprises 31 geographically organised academies (15 secondaries, 14 primaries and 2 special) educating 20,000 students, and employing 3,000 talented staff.
