Job Description

Leigh Academy Peninsula East has an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant (1:1) to join our team and become a key part of our caring and inclusive school community. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a meaningful difference to a child’s daily school experience.

Our school is more than just a place to learn - it is a place to grow. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual with experience supporting SEND pupils or children with complex needs, which is vital for this role. The successful candidate will also have a strong grasp of both spoken and written English and Mathematics, alongside excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will work closely with a designated child throughout the school day, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop independence and feel safe and supported within the school environment. You will work in partnership with class teachers, the SEN team and external professionals to meet the child’s individual needs.

This position requires a flexible, patient and proactive approach and may include supporting the child with aspects of their personal care as part of ensuring their wellbeing.

If you are a caring, approachable individual with a positive, can-do attitude, we would love to hear from you.

Join us at Leigh Academy Peninsula East and help us create a nurturing and supportive learning environment for our students.
