Longfield Academy is seeking to appoint a skilful, dedicated and enthusiastic Chef Lecturer to join our technology team.  You will be expected to strive to maintain success rates in all areas, using innovation within your teaching. This is a fantastic opportunity to pass your specialist skills and passion for this subject on to the next generation of Chef professionals.

To be suitable for this role you must have recent experience working in a kitchen as a chef. Teaching experience is advantageous but not essential; please note that we do not require Qualified Teacher Status for this position - our appointed candidate will join us on the Unqualified Teacher Scale which can viewed found here.  We welcome suitably experienced and interested candidates to join us for a visit on site to see our facilities - please contact Olivia Couzins (Talent Manager) on 01634 412 240 or olivia.couzins@latrust.org.uk to arrange this. 

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Prepare clear lesson plans and devise schemes of work
  • Deliver learning that inspires and motivates learners
  • Deliver the framework to learners age ranged between 14 - 19
  • Give clear aims and objectives for each session
  • Use the group profile to differentiate learning needs effectively
  • Mark students' work and maintain accurate assessment records
  • Give constructive feedback to learners
  • Be aware of any health & safety issues and take appropriate action
