About the role: An incredibly successful secondary academy on the outskirts of Dartford has a great opportunity for a confident and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join their support team. Our appointed candidate will join Longfield Academy, receiving fantastic training and development opportunities from the off-set with scope to positively influence our students’ learning.
The role of a Learning Support Assistant involves working with students across Years 7 to 13 in a variety of subject areas, either on a 1-1 basis or in small groups. Some students may have Special Educational Needs that you can support them with (training is offered in this remit), whilst others may need extra assistance from someone with a passion for the subject to push them even further. Previous experience in supporting students with ASD is desirable for this role. The students you will be working with are by no means behind in the subject, but need extra encouragement and support to ensure they understand each topic and to enhance their confidence within the subject.
This role is fixed term until July 2022 and the working basis is 31 hours per week, Term Time only.
This role is ideal for recent Graduates who are looking to embark on Teacher Training. This role will provide you with first hand exposure to working in a school setting. We would also like to make interested candidates aware that this role can also be offered as an apprenticeship with the salary being £10,000 (full time equalivent) with the actual salary being £6,878 per annum. The basis of the apprenticeship role is fixed term for the duration of the apprenticeship (12-18 month approximately), 31 hours per week, Term Time only.
