We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our team in Strategic Property with the commitment, drive and motivation to make a difference for our communities.
This role is normally based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, however, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have been working at home and it has worked really well for us.

You will need to be a passionate and self-driven team player to help shape and drive our housing delivery projects. You'll support the Councils' wider asset management strategy through proactive site appraisal and assembly by identifying and utilising opportunities, in order to create larger and more valuable sites, with increased scope for development.

The role will focus on project management, governance, collaboration, developing our pipeline and delivery of our affordable homes strategy. You will be highly collaborative, adaptable and resilient with excellent interpersonal skills to build strong, productive relationships with housing colleagues and key partners.
Demonstrable experience in the public sector or in the delivery of affordable homes is essential together with experience with Homes England grant administration, utilisation of S106 monies or right to buy receipts, site and financial appraisals and stakeholder engagement.

The Assistant Manager is a role intended to support the Corporate Manager and provide strategic and operational support to the team. You will participate in the full range of organisational activity including the development of corporate strategic priorities, the interpretation and translation into operational delivery and achievement of outcomes.
We are proud of the role we play in creating the environment, economy and communities for our districts. Babergh and Mid Suffolk have consistently been voted amongst the top places to live in the UK.

Working together across our Councils and with our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, we provide excellent services to our 190,000 residents across Babergh and Mid Suffolk - working hard to provide homes, support our communities, boost local economy, protect our environment and keep our districts clean, tidy and safe.
We offer a generous leave entitlement, access to the Suffolk Green Travel Plan, discount scheme and pension scheme. We also offer a range of training and development and will give you all the support you need, for your career and wellbeing.

We are committed to agile and flexible working (subject to business need), with full time, part time or job share opportunities considered. Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.
