About us

The Local Government Association speaks with one voice on behalf of local government in England and Wales. Made up of elected representatives from all the different political parties, we aim to set the political agenda and have our say in the national media on the issues that matter to council members. There has never been a more exciting time to work for us.
The LGA pensions team provides a small secretariat to the Advisory Board of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) in England and Wales. The Board works on behalf of the scheme’s 87 administering authorities, 14,000 scheme employers and 5 million members, and closely with the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). To be part of this team is to be a vital element in the policy and legislative framework of the largest funded pension scheme in the UK.

The Local Government Pension Scheme Advisory Board (www.lgpsboard.org) is a body set up under Section 7 of the Public Service Pensions Act 2013 and The Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations 110-113. It consists of representatives from scheme employers and scheme members together with observers and advisors from the pensions industry.

You will act as a lead contact for colleagues in providing professional advice and guidance on interpreting research and data.
The successful candidate will be a key part of the secretariat team supporting the Board. You will work to design and deliver high quality research and data projects for the Scheme Advisory Board (SAB) and the LGPS sector.
