The role

The Conservative Group Office consists of a small team of four who provide wide-ranging and active support to Conservative councillors. 

We:
• Support the Conservative Group Lead Members and Conservative councillors on boards and in roles at the LGA
• Work to create and maintain strong relations with the Parliamentary Conservative Party
• Arrange events, meetings and seminars for councillors across the country.
• Send regular communications to Conservative councillors.

The requirements

You will be providing Administrative support within a small team of four and will also be the first point of contact for enquiries.

We are looking for a self-starter who can provide support at an administrative level, with excellent oral and written skills.  

In the fast paced, ever changing world of local government, you will need a flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to meet changing work requirements. 

It goes without saying that you will have real political sensitivity and the ability to work with discretion and confidentiality. An understanding of local and central government is desirable but not essential.

You must have the right to work in the UK, the LGA are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship visas. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
