    As Leicestershire’s Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, our role is to improve accountability, transparency and visibility over the finances and governance of the Police. We ensure the policing needs of our communities are met, enhancing public confidence in the system. We ensure communities are at the heart of everything we do and are committed to reducing the impact of crime with a key focus on prevention.

    Working alongside Leicestershire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, you will provide strategic financial direction, advising on key areas of policy and practice and leading on the delivery of the Commissioner’s key priorities and plans. 

    Utilising your extensive knowledge and experience of financial planning, budgets, statutory accounting and risk management, you’ll be managing the OPCC budget, ensuring appropriate financial standards and processes are in place to maintain compliance with statutory, legislative and financial frameworks. 

    Drawing upon your experience of working at Chief Officer level, combined with financial qualifications, professional membership and a knowledge of policing, you will influence a range of policy makers, public bodies, partners and suppliers, enabling us to meet existing objectives and new challenges. 

    Adopting an innovative approach to service delivery, you will seek funding to support new initiatives, enhancing the reputation and influence of the OPCC, as well as ensuring that we significantly contribute to national considerations concerning policing and public safety. 

    Being a strong leader with exceptional communication skills, you will forge strategic partnerships with senior stakeholders at a local, regional and national level, influencing key investment and policy decisions, delivering an efficient and effective police service for the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

    You will be required to be flexible in terms of work location and will be prepared to travel nationally, when necessary.
