The role

As the sole national, cross-party voice for local government, the LGA delivers impactful campaigns and works closely with central government to deliver the changes that local communities want to see. We are looking for a Digital, Campaigns and Marketing Adviser to help us achieve this and to support us in our work to ensure the sector is informed and supported around cyber security. If you are a driven, talented communicator that has experience in developing eye catching digital and marketing material, and are passionate about delivering for local government and their communities, this could be the role for you. As we encourage flexible working at the LGA, we are happy to discuss the option of a home-based contract. The salary for a home-based worker is from £35,336 pa or office-based from £39,113 pa (including London Weighting). The office-based working will be in line with our transitional flexible working policy as we begin to go back into the office again following COVID-19..

The requirements

  • Experience of delivering creative and transformative campaigns.
  • Thorough experience of creating communications content which support corporate priorities and services to a wide range of customers and stakeholders.
  • Evidence of developing communications, marketing and campaign materials for publication to a variety of audience segments and channels
  • Understanding of political processes within central and local government and ability to work with elected members, senior managers and other key stakeholders, including Parliament and Whitehall.
  • Evidence of analytical and research skills, including experience in audience segmentation.
  • Evidence of creative use of communications channels to deliver campaign and marketing content.

You must have the right to work in the UK, the LGA are unfortunately unable to offer sponsorship visas. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.
