About the role
The LGA works to influence government policy and to support councils to deliver effectively for their communities. The Research and Information Team underpins much of this work, and the team is looking for a full-time, permanent Research and Data Analyst.
The successful post-holder will be a key part of the team that delivers evidence for the LGA’s policy development, support and lobbying work, and delivers our LG Inform data service to authorities. We are a professional team: our work is widely used within the organisation and often features in the media.
The successful candidate can expect to take on a very varied and wide-ranging portfolio of work that supports and promotes local authorities and helps them to self-improve.
The post is office-based, with opportunities for home-working. This will be in line with the LGA’s flexible working policy, where staff have to attend our Westminster office a minimum of one day a week.

About you
The Research and Information Team are looking for a person who can design and deliver surveys and conduct data analysis. We particularly welcome interest from candidates who can demonstrate they have data modelling and more advanced analytics skills.
It’s essential that you have both research (surveys and interviews) and data analysis skills and can write and communicate well. We are looking for team players with good organisational abilities.
