An exciting, high profile opportunity for a talented, motivated professional to make a real national strategic difference for adult safeguarding practice and the implementation of Making Safeguarding Personal. It is important that your application demonstrates your ability in these areas.

The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking to recruit a talented, dynamic professional to support the Care and Health Improvement Advisor leading on Safeguarding Adults, progress the recommendations of the Making Safeguarding Personal Temperature checks, and support improvements in adult safeguarding practice. The role can be either office based or home-based (if living outside of greater London) and will involve occasional national travel to attend meetings/events.

This is an important time to embed the Care Act 2014, and promote good adult safeguarding practice, support Councils and Partners to adopt the person centred and outcome focused approach to adult safeguarding, and enable councils and partners to share learning in order to improve adult safeguarding practice.

The role will require: experience of adult safeguarding practice and leadership, particularly Making Safeguarding Personal; knowledge of adult safeguarding and relevant legislation; and ability to support improvement and change across complex systems. The successful candidate will need to be skilled at working with people from a broad range of sectors to deliver improvement in challenging times.
