The Local Government Association (LGA) is looking for a fantastic communications assistant to support our Director of Communications and national Communications Improvement team. 

You will be responsible for providing high level administrative support to our Director of Communications, giving you the chance to experience the full range of services provided by the LGA’s communications team. 

You will also have the opportunity to work with senior communications professionals from across local government by helping our Communications Improvement team to deliver their programme of communications reviews.

Your main duties will include:

•    Supporting the Director of Communications with specific requests as tasked, including diary and travel management, meeting preparation and expenses.
•    Helping to coordinate arrangements for our communication reviews.
•    Maintaining effective relationships with our national team of communications professionals. 

You will play a key part in helping us deliver services that really matter to local government communicators throughout England and Wales.  You will need to have excellent organisational skills, a positive ‘can do’ attitude and an enthusiasm for great communication. You will be also comfortable juggling different priorities and working with a range of different stakeholders. 

Experience of local government/public services would be an advantage.

The LGA is currently based in Layden House, Farringdon (zone 1), but will be moving back to  Local Government House in Smith Square once refurbishment is complete in Autumn 2017.
