An exciting, high profile opportunity for a talented, motivated professional to make a real national strategic difference to the care and support of people with a learning disability and/or autism who display behaviour that challenges.
The Local Government Association (LGA) is seeking to recruit a dynamic professional to lead and shape a collaborative approach to the implementation of Transforming Care and systems reform to improve the lives of people with a learning disability and/or autism.
The successful candidate will provide senior representation for the LGA, working with key national partners, including NHS England, ADASS and the Department of Health, to support the development and design of the Transforming Care programme, and using their skills to create innovative solutions to complex issues.
The role will require substantial senior level experience of social care, especially within learning disability services and of leading change across a complex system. The successful candidate will need to be skilled at building and maintaining strategic relationships, including those with politicians, and in creating innovative solutions to complex issues. They will provide sector experience and knowledge into the implementation of the programme.
The successful candidate will be committed to implementing “Building the right support” ensuring that the care and support options developed maximise choice and control for individuals.

The LGA is currently based in Layden House, Farringdon (zone 1), but will be moving back to 18 Smith Square, Westminster once refurbishment is complete in autumn 2017.
