The role
We are looking for a Learning and Development Officer who can help to shape our learning and development offering to staff. The role will focus on the following:
- Identifying development needs of individuals within the organisation;
- Co-ordinating the activities of the LGA’s Leadership Development Programme (due to launch in 2018);
- Alongside the HR & OD Adviser, developing the LGA’s senior leader competencies;
- Designing a training and development programme with a strong focus on the use of e-learning technologies.
- Coordinating and administering training courses delivered by internal and external providers.
- Ensuring the LGA is utilising its apprenticeship levy to best effect.
The requirements
We are looking for someone with a solid background of in-house learning and development with experience in developing relationships with external training providers. You will have experience of using e-learning technology as a tool to deliver learning to employees and you will have implemented initiatives to increase user numbers.
The individual will co-ordinate the activities of our new leadership development programme (due to launch in 2018) and as such you will also need knowledge of this area.
You will have well-developed ICT skills and be a strong communicator both in written and spoken communications
Experience of local government would be helpful but is not essential for the role, however the ability to work as part of a team, as well as on your own initiative, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude is paramount.
