We have recently reviewed our organisation and are now looking to appoint to this new role to both enhance our capacity and help lead us through the next stage of our development.  If you are passionate about social care and a committed team player this could be the role for you.

About us
ADASS, the charity and national social care leadership organisation, has a key role in influencing policy, supporting its members and sharing good practice. The Association's strength is based on its network of 152 local authority Directors of Adult Social Services and their wider teams. Our members play a key role locally, regionally and nationally.

About the role
We are looking for someone who is able to work across a very wide range of initiatives to support the Chief Officer, President and Trustees. This will involve providing strategic and operational management within the ADASS central team, working with key partners to promote ADASS objectives and taking the lead on a number of policy areas.

About you
You will have a role in leading our small but yet supportive staff team, focussing on policy, communications and resources. You will need to be self-sufficient, flexible, able to engage with evidence and logic as well as being creative and highly responsive to the demands made of a small organisation.

You will be a current or recent senior leader within adult social care, and will be a highly effective and versatile operator, able to work well at pace with Government and other partners and to support Trustees, policy and regional leads and the Association's members to influence thinking and to deliver change.

Shortlisted applicant will have an opportunity to discuss the role informally with the Chief Officer before interview.
