This is a chance to work in a dynamic team on a number of high-profile programmes of work that aim to improve public health.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about the difference that councils can make to public health. You will be a good communicator, have the ability to understand the complex interactions that impact on public health and the skill to help devise programmes that support councils to improve and innovate and improve the services that matter to people.
The post holder will support our existing programmes of work including childhood obesity and our work with The Health Foundation on the wider determinants of health.
You will have experience of developing and implementing service innovation and improvement, as well as knowing what works and why, and be able to take others on this journey with you. Experience and knowledge of working in the public sector, and an understanding of public health would all be of benefit. You will be adept at understanding the impact of government policy at a local level, using insights from these to identify the support required to drive innovation and improvement.
You will also have strong project management skills, experience of user led approaches and using evidence-based approach to demonstrate impact as well as using evidence-based narratives to support improvement. Experience of using digital platforms would be desirable, with knowledge of how these platforms could be used to increase engagement and share best practice. Ability to influence at all levels, tact, diplomacy and tenacity go without saying, as well as knowledge of what makes impactful communications.
