About the job
As a Member Services Officer in the Member Services Team, you will organise, attend and advise a portfolio of LGA member meetings. The role will include undertaking research and drafting senior level briefing material, as well as preparing / despatching agendas and drafting minutes and reports. You’ll also contribute to the development and improvement of support services for LGA elected Members. 

About you
You’ll have experience of managing formal meetings as well as a sound knowledge of local government and an understanding of the LGA’s work. Establishing good working relationships with Senior Members and Officers is key as you will offer them support as well as advice and guidance on procedural and constitutional issues. You will have excellent organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and plenty of initiative. You’ll also be a proficient IT user and will have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Political sensitivity and outstanding communication skills are also essential to this post.
