Job Description

Currently a Team Leader or Senior Support Worker looking for your next move within care? Want to work for an award winning charity who support people with learning disabilities?

What makes this a great job? Well it’s partly the people we support. And it’s partly the team spirit and sheer pride in their jobs you’ll find in your staff.

Outline

We support seven gentlemen who are very sociable and are keen to get out and get involved with the local community. Current restrictions are understandably causing frustrations and you will need to be creative in your approach to ensure a balance between maintaining safe practices and keeping people fulfilled.

You will be taking on the leadership of an experienced team; encouraging and mentoring them, completing supervisions and appraisals and ensuring staff have all the training and resources they need.

The team strives always to keep our support fresh, new and genuinely person-centred, and you will be key to this.

Of course there will be the practical details such as overseeing the rota, completing risk assessments and support plans. You will be responsible for the service budget, and ensuring the home is fully compliant with all regulatory requirements as well as our internal processes.

You’ll develop constructive relationships with external professionals, social work teams, families, and the local community.

You'll also have overall responsible for ensuring any staff vacancies are filled promptly, working with our supportive internal recruitment team.

You will also be part of the on call system with our other local Managers, so you will need to have a flexible approach.

About you

You will have experience of supporting vulnerable people, ideally those with a learning disability.

You’ll be creative in your thinking and your approach both to staff and the people we support, able to inspire and motivate. You'll have the ability to empathise and work with families and help build their confidence in us right from the start.

Other qualities you'll have as a great Frontline Manager will be the ability to budget, work under your own initiative, and be reliable and flexible.

You must be a driver with your own transport which is insured for business use, as you will travel regularly between services, as well as to regular meetings, conferences and training.
