We are recruiting for full and part-time support workers across several of our supported living services in Milton Keynes.  No experience necessary.

About the service

Our supported living services focus on encouraging the people we support to do as much for themselves as they are able to. This will include maintaining their home, attending medical appointments, budgeting, shopping, meal planning, cooking and cleaning as well as personal care and making positive choices to maintain good mental health and positive well-being.

Alongside the regular support tasks, a lot of what you will be doing will involve offering company and companionship. We support many people, all with differing support needs: from individuals that are very independent to others needing more assistance.

At MacIntyre no two days are the same as the individuals we support enjoy a wide range of hobbies and activities including baking, arts and crafts, video games, gardening, music and dance, walking and watching sports. Family is also extremely important and you will help them to maintain contact and accommodate support visits, where possible.

You will also support these individuals to maintain day to day living skills, helping them to live a life that makes sense to them.

About the role

Firstly, you don’t need experience to become a support worker but it’s not easy! The work can be demanding and challenging at times but no two days are the same and the reward of seeing your personal impact is incredibly inspiring and it’s something you’ll never forget.
 
The role will require you to deliver some personal care, assist with finances and support the administration of medication. You will also support each individual’s emotional needs and find ways to facilitate good communication – we will provide you with full training and back-up from our specialist teams and senior colleagues throughout.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Depending on the service, there may also be an expectation to sleep-in and lone work on a regular basis.

We have a range of opportunities: full-time or part-time, plus temporary or relief contracts available. At interview we'll describe our different services in more detail and discuss with you which might work best for you.
