Support Worker
Shrewsbury - Belle Vue

Job reference: 000382

Location: Shrewsbury - Belle Vue

Closing date: 02/12/2020

Salary: £8.75 per hour

Employment type: Full-time

Could you support people with a learning disability to live more independently? Would you like to make a difference that lasts long after the end of your shift?

We have two brand new homes coming soon and we're growing our team of Support Workers - no experience needed.

This really will be an exciting time to join us  - right from the very start!

Outline

You'll be supporting three males in their 20s who are transitioning into supported living accommodation in Shrewsbury.

Oliver, Luke and Simon* will be living in one home and we have a second home opening at a later date due to further growth so watch this space!
In this home, you'll be supporting Oliver, Luke and Simon who have learning disabilities and autism.
Moving may be a scary as well as exciting time for them so it's important you all become familiar with each so you're able to provide the best emotional reassurance possible as they move in.

You'll be assisting with a wide range of activities from the everyday living needs and 'must dos' (such as cooking and cleaning, shopping and baking and general house maintenance), through to the lighter side of life doing things like becoming involved with their hobbies and interests and socilaising with family and friends.

Oliver may need additional support with his diet so assisting with food preparation will be key. Together, they will also be looking for paid employment so any support you can give Oliver, Luke and Simon here will be welcomed.
You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
