You’ll be supporting Dorothy, a lady with a learning disability, autism and epilepsy living in her own flat, as she strives to lead a life that makes sense to her. Dorothy loves listening to music especially the 70's and 80's and is keen on jigsaw puzzles. She is not able to cook for herself but likes to be involved, she may just watch as you prepare her meals and keep her flat clean and tidy. Dorothy loves to go out and has her own mobility car so you will need to be a driver. Some of her favourite trips are to zoos and petting farms. Her family are very important to her, so supporting her to visit them will be an important part of the role.

She has limited speech but is able to understand a lot of what is being said. You will need to be patient and resilient as she can get frustrated if she is unable to make herself understood. She is keen to explore new ways that her ipad can aid her communication. She will also need support with personal care including medication. She is very open to new ideas for leisure activities and would be keen to hear your suggestions.


About you


Experience isn’t always necessary. If you have the right attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit. You must be a driver with a manual licence, as you will be driving service vehicles.

Training and Development
