Would you like to make a positive difference in someone's life? Could you support a man who has learning disabilities as he works to become more independent?
Andrew* is in his mid-forties. He enjoys having a good chat about films, TV, music, football and horse racing. He's also very keen on card games and charitable work.
There is no personal care required in this role, but when feeling unsettled, Andrew's behaviour can be challenging, and part of your job will be to work with him to manage his verbal aggression. We will give you full specialist training around this.
Andrew's goal is to live totally independently, and to have a job. Now that he is moving to his own self-contained home, he will need support to learn new life skills, increase his involvement in his local community, and begin to fulfil his dreams. That's where you come in!
This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours a week, and you will take your turn on a rota including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
