Support Worker - Learning Disabilities
Milton Keynes

Job reference: 000722

Location: Milton Keynes

Closing date: 14/04/2021

Salary: £8.75 per hour

Employment type: Full-time

Are you positive and creative? Could you support people with learning disabilities, helping them live life on their own terms?

Why not join our team supporting four adults with learning disabilities in Milton Keynes, where we have full & part-time positions available.

The service is spilt into four separate flats where the tenants take responsibility to maintain their own accommodation. You will support the individuals in their day to day living needs and be required to support them in accessing the community and trips out as we navigate out of another lockdown.

You will support and enable the tenants to do as much for themselves as they are able, which will include maintaining their home, budgeting, shopping, meal planning, cooking and support with medical appointments and making positive choices to maintain good mental health and positive well-being.

The individuals at these flats enjoy a wide range of hobbies including baking, arts and crafts, video games, music and dance, walking and watching sports. A lot of what you will be doing will involve offering company and companionship alongside the regular support tasks.

Some people will require your assistance with intimate care and/ or medication. People can display complex behaviour and need help to manage their emotions and conduct. We will provide you with full training and back-up from our specialist teams and your colleagues.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.

Experience isn’t always necessary. If you have the right attitude, share our values and are willing to learn, you’re likely to be a great fit. We are looking for people who celebrate differences, and we strive to make all our staff feel included, valued and respected.
