Support Worker part time

Job reference: 000114

Location: Wrexham

Closing date: 04/11/2020

Salary: £9.00 -£9.50 an Hour

Employment type: Part-time

The feeling of supporting and empowering people with learning disabilities and autism to live a life that makes sense to them is the most heartfelt. And seeing the positive impact that YOU can make is unforgettable...

We love what we do and are recognised as an award winning charity for our passion and dedication. Join us as a part time Support Worker* (16-24 hours per week) and you'll soon see why.

*We are only able to accept female applicants* for this role due to the operational needs of the service

You'll join our team at a supported living facility in the Pentre Maelor area of Wrexham. At this facility, we support two young women in their 20's with autism, ADHD and complex needs. You will support them with daily living tasks such as shopping, cooking and cleaning. You'll encourage them with personal care and find ways to help them manage their behaviour, which can be challenging at times. (Positive behaviour support training provided.)

You'll join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies. They enjoy activities in the house such as listening to music, baking, being pampered, watching DVDs and TV. They also enjoy activities outside including days out, shopping, walks, going out for drinks, attending local clubs and discos. And they're always keen to find new interests - perhaps you have some interesting hobbies to share with them?

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota which will include mornings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins (approx. 1/2 per week). The role can include some lone working.

About us

We use a person centered approach to keep the people we support safe, happy and healthy and to ensure each individual is able to live a life that makes sense to them. Using a Positive Behaviour Support strategy ensures we see the person first, not their disability.
