Support Worker Learning Disabilities
Milton Keynes

Job reference: 000785

Location: Milton Keynes

Closing date: 21/04/2021

Salary: £9.00 per hour

Employment type: Full-time or part-time

Are you looking for a new opportunity and a chance to make a difference? Are you someone who is warm, willing to learn, and resilient? Then you are probably just the person we need.

We are now expanding our services in Milton Keynes. This is your opportunity to get in at the beginning and help us establish a new registered care provision from scratch.

You and your team will be supporting Mark*, a young man with autism and complex needs, as he leaves specialist residential education and moves into his new home in Milton Keynes. We will consider part time applicants for this post. Please state the hours you are looking for on your application form.

This is a great opportunity to join us from the start! You will get to know Mark and be able to support him as he settles into his new home in Milton Keynes. It may be a scary as well as exciting time for Mark so it's important for him to become familiar with you and the team so you're able to provide the best emotional reassurance possible while he transitions.

A little more about Mark: He is 18 years old, and has a wide variety of interests. He loves watching movies, playing on his X-box and listening to music but also enjoys being in the great outdoors, so you'll need to have lots of energy to keep up with him! Mark is also into his sport: particularly Formula 1 and football, he is an avid Chelsea FC supporter, so if you're a racing fanatic or a fellow football fan, you'll get on fine!

Mark needs staff who are patient, who won't rush him and who understand his anxieties. He will need a lot of reassurance, especially as this move will be a huge change in his life. It will be a collaborative process for everyone, getting to know each other and sharing enthusiasms, interests and fun.
