Do you like dancing and listening to music? Or are you creative and like to make things with wood? Could you support a young man with learning disabilities, helping him live life on his own terms?
We have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our outreach team. No experience? No problem. Just bring your kind heart and we'll provide the training.
You will be supporting Paul* an 18 year old young man with autism and ADHD to live independently in Glenfield. You'll be providing Paul with emotional support but you'll also be supporting his everyday living needs, such as: supporting with appointments, managing his home, and assisting with personal care. Socially Paul would like you to join him in listening to music and having a dance and is a big fan of seeing live bands. He is also creative and likes to spend time making things out of wood.
Paul understands simple language and sentences and in the past, when particularlly anxious, has shown behaviours of concern. You'll have full training and support in all these areas.
The shifts are worked on a rota basis covering; Lates, earlies and some sleep ins.
