£18,037 per annum
37.5 hours per week
Based: Newcastle and Gateshead
An opportunity has arisen to join our Newcastle Employment Team and our Gateshead Employment Team for an Employment Specialist Recovery Worker.
As an Employment Specialist Recovery Worker you will be required to provide a high quality, recovery focused service aimed to improve the work and health outcomes for disabled people and those with long term health conditions. Delivering a holistic package of support, you will combine peer support techniques with personalised work ready activates in order to engage individuals with their peers and reconnect with the labour market.
Lived experience of disability and/or understanding and experience of supporting people with a disability and/or long term health condition to gain and retain employment is essential, as is experience of partnership working, working with a wide range of employers and an understanding of the benefits system.
As this role involves working on a 1:1 and group basis, experience of session planning, presenting information and facilitating group sessions would be an advantage.
You will have an excellent understanding of community and training resources and the ability to engage clients in their local community. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to demonstrate a proactive and positive attitude.
You will be qualified at least to NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to motivate others and help them to identify and overcome barriers.
